Fantastic 4
This movie was such anti-abortion propaganda.

This movie was such anti-abortion propaganda.
Saw this for Marcus’s birthday at The Alamo in Chicago.
I love Mary!!! I love Judy!!!
I mostly loved seeing New York in a new city that I had never visited before. Really loving Parker Posey!
Watched this with a friend.
I wanted to see GDT’s first movie and honestly was kinda meh throughout most of it. I was invested in the power of this ancient scarab and the scene where Federico Lupi licked the blood of that dirty bathroom floor was fabulous. Wait, so was Ron Perlman acting/speaking bad Spanish. As well as the final action sequence. So maybe I liked this movie!!!
Maybe I should have waited for a spookier month, for rain, and a bit of chill in the air.
This was basically the perfect movie because it had two things that I will almost always love which is 1) New York City and 2) unsimulated real life, extended and prolonged sex on screen.
Sofia’s unfortunate predicament was interesting because I’ve known multiple women who also struggle to orgasm so to me, she’s a friend.
James and Jamie’s story was the most compelling because it turned out to be so poignant and sad and loving, especially when it culminates with Caleb’s (the stalker guy) direct involvement in the end.
...Dracula saying “I was there when they crucified him. He died for their sins. But not mine."
When Parker Posey said, “How about everyone stops saying the word ‘dick’? It provokes my envy.” What did she mean by that 🤔
Completely couldn’t believe that it was Ryan Reynolds I was watching. How has he been playing the same kind of guy for over a decade now… I mean honestly, it was fine, it’s an action movie, there are vampires and sometimes it’s hot, but mostly I didn’t care for it that much. Did like the music though, obviously.
Watched this with a buncha people at Angelika on Houston St. It was pretty funny and cozy despite the kinda dark subject matter. Y’know I’m appreciating how movie are broken up into different arcs or acts and more recently I’ve noticed how explicit they are about showing it. Title cards, timestamps, etc. It situates me very well in the plot, I like it.
I didn’t get to talk very much about it after the movie ended, but I did get to catch up with Claire over dinner at a Dig Inn that was nearby, which was really nice.
