I feel like I’ve been introducing myself a lot lately. Though every time I say my name to someone it’s with a sense of apprehension about their response. Are they going to smile and nod with their eyes kind of glazed over and you can tell, like, they seriously are not even considering remembering it? Or will they say it correctly and then ask so eager, like “Did I get that right?”

I have three friends (all Indian) who can and do pronounce my name correctly, every single time they say it, and every single time I hear it, it’s such a delightful surprise. Yay!
